Taking your question further, with the sorts of powers that Superman and Spider-Man have - why aren't they doing MORE? Peter Parker invented his webbing but only ever used it for fighting crime and swinging around the city. What about it's other practical applications? For use in safety devices, protective clothing etc?
And Superman... why does he fly around Metropolis fighting crime when he could be using his powers to help irrigate infertile drought lands or help build flood defences?Whoever believe magic is real why dont they use for social work like for eg:superman,spiderman?because they can't reveal their powers to anyone. i do magic secretly. but i know you wouldnt believe me.
