Would the world be better or worse if there were superhero鈥檚 like batman, superman, Ironman, or Spiderman?

The best movie I've ever seen about superheroes is, surprisingly, Hancock.

Think about it for a second. Would you really want someone with extraordinary abilities to be able to do anything they please, with no recourse for you to 'protect' yourself? Just the idea of superheroes makes most people panic since it creates the paradox of yes they can do more but, then again, they can do more.

Our legal and criminal system couldn't handle the prospect of someone physically above the law (since people only feel comfortable when they have leverage over someone) and let's not even start the discussion about what it would do to certain religious beliefs (people think jesus christ appears in their morning toast) much less how a person would appear or be perceived by such people. How many days can you actually 'prove' you aren't a demon or the anti-christ, especially to people who have faith so that they can escape such examinations of rationality to begin with (authenticity over Obama's birth certificate ring a bell?)

Then there's the whole scientific guinea pig angle. Somebody somewhere is going to start linking abilities with genetic code, wanting to take the person apart to see how they tick. We don't trust pharmaceutical and research companies with the products they create now, do you really think the worldwide scientific community is simply going to remain star-struck about such an individual for long? The only thing worse than a genetic superhero is Procter and Gamble's New and Improved Flight Serum, guaranteed to improve duration and speed of your flights or your money back.

Hollywood glosses over a lot of the ugly realities that would unfortunately intrude upon such an individual. Being able to live in the Arctic wouldn't even save Superman anymore or give him a moment's peace. This world doesn't know how to deal with ordinary people, it sure as bumkis can't deal with anything beyond that.

Remember Gremlins:

Grandfather: I warned you. With mogwai comes much responsibility. But you didn't listen.

[gestures at television]

Grandfather: And you see what happens.

Randall Peltzer: I'm sorry. I didn't mean it...

Grandfather: You do with mogwai what your society... has done with all of nature's gifts. You do not understand.

[entire Peltzer family is speechless with guilt]

Grandfather: You are not ready.

Superheroes are Mogwai on steroids. If you aint' ready for Mogwai, you aint' ready for Superman.Would the world be better or worse if there were superhero鈥檚 like batman, superman, Ironman, or Spiderman?Worse, because with superheroes you get supervillians.Would the world be better or worse if there were superhero鈥檚 like batman, superman, Ironman, or Spiderman?it depends on your situation. maybe better, to help ward off crime rates, but it would also attract criminals in the sense that they might be looking for danger, so they try to find the superhero. maybe people would be against being saved so that might make it worse. it might also be worse by us not having confidence in ourselves because we might grow too dependant on heroes and always think that they'll be there for us no matter what. that would also be good too, i guess. it depends on a lot of things.Would the world be better or worse if there were superhero鈥檚 like batman, superman, Ironman, or Spiderman?we need all the help we can get. sure, superheros would helpWould the world be better or worse if there were superhero鈥檚 like batman, superman, Ironman, or Spiderman?
depends
