Is the movie "Memphis Belle" realistic in the portrayal of those planes, equipment, procedures, etc?

I'm not asking if the individual stories about the crew is realistic, since Hollywood embellishes those things, or even creates them. My question is whether the airfields, planes, and equipment are somewhat realistic. Thank you.Is the movie "Memphis Belle" realistic in the portrayal of those planes, equipment, procedures, etc?The pilot of the Memphis Belle referred people to the movie "Twelve O'Clock High" if they wanted realism. Is the movie "Memphis Belle" realistic in the portrayal of those planes, equipment, procedures, etc?If you ever can do so get to watch the old Air Power Series that used to be on TV.

To see those B-17s all shot to heck and still flying back our airman is a wonder to behold.

From the couple of times I watched it; I had heard of it even as a child, it seemed pretty much dead on.

No real heorics just men dog a job that had to be done. No hand wringing BS just men doing a job and wanting to go home and lead a once again normal life.

During the WWII the mix of men in the combat arms was different than today as even well educted men were grunts gunners and such and even welath, unless you were supre rich, played no part in what you may of had to do to help your country.

Men dying next to men and no income mattered just men fighting for their country. After the war was a different matter, soe wnet home to lynch ****** got rich and their poop no longer stank and others died working for starvatin wages for men they had fought alongside just years before.
